Zombie Land Saga Anime Gets Film Project

Japanese company Avex Pictures announced that the original anime “Zombie Land Saga” will get a film project. Fittingly, a live-action teaser was released, which you can find further down in this article.

While the teaser, which features actors Hakuryuu and Kunio Murai, is titled “A Zombie-less Fight: Saga Revenge Edition,” details on the new project have yet to be revealed. It is also still unclear whether it will be an anime or live-action film.

“Zombie Land Saga” was directed by Munehisa Sakai (“One Piece: Strong World”) at Studio MAPPA (Kakegurui, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 & Attack on Titan). Shigeru Murakoshi wrote the script, while Kasumi Fukagawa was responsible for character design and Yasuharu Takanashi composed the music.

The twelve-episode first season aired on Japanese television between October and December 2018. A second season ran from April to June 2021.

Zombie Land Saga Plot

One day Sakura has an unfortunate accident. But when she wakes up ten years later zombified, she is put into the idol group Flan Chouchou with seven other zombies by wacky producer Kotaro Tatsumi. Together they overcome many hurdles and finally give a memorable concert in the last winter of the Heisei era. But now the curtain rises again and so they march ahead into a future full of hope in the still so young Reiwa era.
