Tomodachi Game Gets an Anime Adaptation + Visual

Japanese publisher Kodansha announced that the manga series “Tomodachi Game” will get an anime adaptation. You can see the first visual below in this article.

Tomodachi Anime Release Date

The series is being directed by Hirofumi Ogura (“Cells at Work!!”) at studio Okuruto Noboru (“The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter”). Kenta Ihara (“Mieruko-chan”) is penning the script and handling series composition, while Satomi Miyazaki is contributing character design. Michiru (“Ascendance of a Bookworm“) is responsible for the musical score.

Starring are Chiaki Kobayashi (Louis James in “Moriarty the Patriot”) as Yuuichi Katagiri, Daiki Hamano (Matheus Johann in “Saga of Tanya the Evil”) as Tenji Misaka, Yume Miyamoto (Haru in “Sing Yesterday for Me”) as Shiho Sawaragi, Tomohiro Ohno as Makoto Shibe and Satomi Amano as Yutori Kokonogi. The Japanese TV launch is scheduled for April 2022.

The original manga series was penned by Mikoto Yamaguchi and has been published since December 2013 with drawings by Yuuki Satou.

Tomodachi Plot

Yuuichi Katagiri believes that friends are more important than money, but he also knows how hard it is not to have enough money. He saves diligently to attend the class trip because he promised his four best friends that they would all go together.

But after the class money is collected, it is stolen! Suspicion falls on two of Yuichi’s friends: Shiho Sawaragi and Makoto Shibe.

Shortly after, the five are kidnapped and wake up in a strange room with a character from a short-lived anime. Apparently, one of them has involved them in a “friendly game” to settle their large debts. But who was it, and why did they have such a large debt?

Could it be that they stole the money from the class to pay for participating in the game? Katagiri and his best friends must compete in mind games that will test or destroy their trust in each other.
