On the Twitter account of the anime adaptation of “Tokyo Revengers” it was announced that the second season of the series will be broadcast on Japanese television from January 2023. You can find a first teaser as well as a visual further down in this article.
Tokyo Revengers second season with old team
The sequel (Tokyo Revengers Season 2), which adapts the “Christmas Showdown Arc” (jap.: “Seiya Kessen-hen”), is once again being directed by Kouichi Hatsumi at LIDENFILMS. Yasuyuki Mutou is again handling the script, while Keiko Oota and Kenichi Oonuki are once again contributing the character design.
The new episodes will feature Masaya Fukunishi (Shisai in “The Rising of the Shield Hero”) as Ken Ryuguji (Draken). This replaces Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who lent his voice to the character in the first season and is currently taking a break from all public activities.
The 24-episode first season of “Tokyo Revengers” aired on Japanese television between April and September 2021. The streaming service Crunchyroll offers all episodes with English and Japanese language output on demand.
The series is based on the manga series of the same name by Ken Wakui, which launched in Kodansha’s “Shuukan Shounen Magazine” in March 2017 and counts 28 volumes so far.
