On the official website of the upcoming sci-fi anime SAKUGAN, it was announced that the series will be broadcast on Japanese television from October 7, 2021. There is a new key visual that you can check out later in this article.
First episode already available
SAKUGAN is produced under the direction of Jun’ichi Wada (WorldEnd) at Studio Satelight (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon). Yuji Iwahara (Darker than Black) is responsible for the original character design, which is implemented by Shunpei Mochizuki for the animation. Eriko Kimura acts as sound director and Tatsuya Katou as a composer for the musical accompaniment.
The anime was licensed in this country by the streaming service Crunchyroll and will be shown there in the autumn season 2021 in Japanese original sound with English subtitles in a simulcast. The first episode is only available today until 23:00 as a pre-premiere on demand.
The series is based on Nekotaro Inui’s novel “Sakugan Labyrinth Marker” and was originally supposed to premiere last year, but had to be postponed to October 2021 due to various circumstances.
Visual of SAKUGAN
In the distant future, humanity lives shoulder to shoulder in a cramped “colony” separated by rocks. Outside the colony stretches a dangerous, undeveloped area known as “the labyrinth.” Those who risk their lives to explore the labyrinth and mark undeveloped areas are called “markers.”
Memempu is a young girl who wants to become a marker, and Gagumber is a man who has stopped being a marker. This ragtag father-daughter team makes its way into the labyrinth! “If there is no way, then dig one!”
