Netflix announced that it has secured the anime adaptation of Komi Can’t Communicate (jap.: “Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.”) and will show it worldwide in a simulcast.

Komi Can’t Communicate will be shown weekly on Netflix in 190 countries from October 21, 2021, about two weeks after the Japanese TV launch on October 6, 2021. Eight different language versions and subtitles in 31 languages will be offered. Whether the English setting will be there right at the beginning or will be submitted later is not yet certain.
The production of the upcoming anime series is the responsibility of the studio OLM (Pokémon Travel), directed by Kazuki Kawagoe (Episode Director of “Beyblade Burst God”). Ayumu Watanabe (After the Rain) serves as Chief Director, while Deko Akao (Assassins Pride) writes the script. The character design is contributed by Atsuko Nakajima (Ranma 1/2).
In a new trailer released with today’s announcement, the opening song “Cinderella” by Cider Girl and the ending song “Hikareinochi” by Kitri are presented. The original manga series by Tomohito Oda has been published by TOKYOPOP since July 2020.
