Streaming service Netflix announced at the “Netflix Festival Japan 2021” that they are working on a new film project for the anime adaptation of “The Seven Deadly Sins” (jap.: “Nanatsu no Taizai”), for which you can watch a first teaser below.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Release Date
The new film project is titled “The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh” (jap.: “Nanatsu no Taizai: Ensa no Edinburgh”) and is expected to consist of two parts that will premiere worldwide on Netflix later next year. The focus will be on Meliodas’ son Tristan.
Studios Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack are responsible for producing the two CGI films, with Bob Shirahata (“Hetalia World Series”) directing and Noriyuki Abe serving as supervising director. Rintarou Ikeda is again penning the screenplay.
“The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh” is described as a spin-off that tells an original story by manga creator Nakaba Suzuki. Details on the plot have yet to be released.
Netflix has been offering all anime seasons as well as both previous films of “The Seven Deadly Sins” worldwide on demand for quite some time, including with English and Japanese language output.
