Through a report from Japanese news portal Comic Natalie, it was revealed that the manga series “Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You” is getting a live-action series to be released worldwide exclusively on streaming platform Netflix in 2023. We summarize the details.

The live-action adaptation will be co-produced by TV Tokyo and Netflix. Takehiko Shinjou (live-action adaptation of “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso”) and Takeo Kikuchi (live-action adaptation of “Tokyo Alice”) will direct, while Hayato Miyamoto will write the script.
The two leads feature Sara Minami (Hana Kubo in “The Good Father”) as Sawako Kuronuma and Ouji Suzuka (Watanabe in “The Violence Action”) as Shouta Kazahaya. A first image of the protagonists can be found further down in this article.
The original manga series by Karuho Shiina was published in the shoujo magazine “Bessatsu Margaret” between August 2005 and November 2017, and published by the publisher Shueisha in a total of 30 volumes in Japanese stores.
