On the official website of “My Dress-Up Darling” (jap.: “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru”), the anime adaptation of the manga “More Than a Doll“, it was announced today that the series will start in Japan in January 2022. Fittingly, a trailer was released, which you can find below.

“My Dress-Up Darling” is being directed by Keisuke Shinohara (“BLACKFOX,” “A3!”) at studio CloverWorks (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, Spy x Family, Shadows House & Tokyo 24th Ward) . Yoriko Tomita (“Fire Force“) is writing the script and also composing the series. Kazumasa Ishida (“Saekano the Movie finale”) is contributing the character design, while Takeshi Nakatsuka (“Magical Girl Ore”) is composing the music.
The main roles feature Hina Suguta (Touko Kirigaya in “BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!”) as Marin Kitagawa and Shouya Ishige (Yun Arikawa in “Godzilla Singular Point”) as Wakana Gojou.
The original manga was penned by Shinichi Fukuda and has been published in “Young Gangan” magazine in Japan since January 2018. Eight volumes have been published so far.
