Manga author Yuuki Kanamaru announced today via his Twitter account that his series “More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers” (jap.: “Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman”) will be getting an anime adaptation. You can check out an illustration for the announcement below.

The story is about high school student Jirou Yakuin, who is brought together with his classmate Akari Watanabe as part of a video-monitored “couple practice” in which the students are supposed to live together like a married couple. However, both had hoped for other partners.
“More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers” by Yuuki Kanamaru has been published by “Young Ace” magazine since March 2018 and includes six volumes so far. The series is not available in this country.

High school student Jirou Yakuin had hoped to participate in the mandatory “couples internship” with Shiori Sakurazaka from his class, in which students must prove that they have the necessary skills to live with a partner of the opposite sex while being monitored by video and evaluated in the process.
However, chance would have it that he ended up with Akari Watanabe, who, on the other hand, was hoping for her crush Minami Tenjin. But their hopes are doubly dashed when they find out that Shiori and Minami are assigned together.
So the two reluctantly decide that they will work together to reach the top ten, which would give them the right to swap partners if both couples agree. To this end, Jirou steals Akari’s first kiss without knowing what he has done….
