Will there ever be Mieruko-Chan Season 2? Will we ever get to see it on our screens again?
Out of all anime releases last year, Mieruko-chan stands as one of the most popular comedy shows that have received a glaring number of praises from fans worldwide. Despite the amount of success, Mieruko-chan isn’t known for having the best run when it first aired. Many people initially thought that Mieruko-chan would just be another mediocre horror anime without a plot or for having too much fanservice.
However, it has been proven that you should not judge something too early, because as the episode progresses, Mieruko-chan started to show what they are made of. It’s one of those shows that brings something different and refreshing at the same time to the anime realm.
Mieruko-chan began life as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tomoki Izumi. It has been serialized online on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website since November 2018. As of March 2022, there are seven tankobon volumes that have been released. Not only in Japanese but the manga series has also been published in English by Yen Press since November 17, 2020.
The manga series Mieruko-chan has achieved great success in the manga industry, as it was nominated for the 5th Next Manga Awards in the digital category and placed 10th out of 50 nominees.
Mieruko-Chan Season 2 Renewal Status
An anime adaptation of the successful manga series Mieruko-chan was first announced on March 18, 2021. The animation of the adaptation was done by Passione, the studio best known for its anime releases such as Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Citrus, High School DxD Hero, and Interspecies Reviewers.
The anime series Mieruko-chan premiered on October 3, 2021, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on December 19 of the same year. After the first season has ended, many of the fans who enjoyed the series as a whole are craving to see the continuation of it. So, what is the renewal status of Mieruko-chan Season 2? Has the studio said anything about a season renewal?
As of now, neither the author nor the studio has said anything regarding Mieruko-chan Season 2. We don’t know whether there will be a season renewal or not. However, the show hasn’t been canceled so a sequel would still be feasible in the future.
Mieruko-Chan Season 2: Will it be possible?
Fortunately, it would be highly likely that we will get to see Mieruko-chan Season 2 sometime in the future. Nowadays, it’s not a surprise for new shows to receive a season renewal. At this point, even Spirit Chronicles, the anime that everyone thought would end up being in the junk, announced a second season months after the completion of the first season.
Not to mention, the manga has received an impeccable popularity boost thanks to the anime adaptation. In fact, a large emergency reprint is needed to answer the heavy demand in bookstores and general stores. This fact alone is more than enough to guarantee Mieruko-Chan Season 2.
Although in terms of source material, the manga is only slightly ahead of the anime by four volumes. The first season of Mieruko-chan has already covered the first three out of seven volumes of the manga. With that being said, it’s possible that we will have to wait a little longer for the announcement of Mieruko-Chan Season 2.
Considering these, it is highly possible that we will get to see Mieruko-chan Season 2. However, as mentioned earlier, we will have to wait for a little while until the manga has plenty of materials for a season renewal.
