JoJo: Stone Ocean appears monthly on Netflix

After the streaming service Netflix announced a few weeks ago that it has secured the anime adaptation of the sixth part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (jap.: “JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken”), further details about the release of the series are now known.

JoJo: Stone Ocean Anime launches in December 2021

According to an entry in Netflix’s media center, the new season, titled JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, will be released worldwide on a monthly basis on the platform from December 2021. However, how many episodes are involved in each case is not clear from this entry. In Japan, the anime series will be broadcast weekly on television from January 2022.

The anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is directed by Toshiyuki Kato (Diamond Is Unbreakable) at Studio David Production. Kenichi Suzuki (Part 1-3) acts as Chief Director, while Yasuko Kobayashi again takes over the series composition. Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon) contributes the character design and Yugo Kanno the music.

Stone Ocean is the sixth part of the manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki, who published this story section between January 2000 and April 2003 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and in 17 manga volumes with the Japanese publisher Shueisha.
