Goodbye, DonGlees! Film to be released next year
The film, which is directed by Atsuko Ishizuka (A Place Further Than the Universe), who also had the idea for the new original anime and also writes the screenplay, is being created at Studio Madhouse (No Game No Life), is expected to launch in Japanese cinemas in the course of 2022. However, a concrete date is still pending.
The film stars Natsuki Hanae (Tanjirou Kamado in “Demon Slayer“) as Roma Kamogawa, Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager in “Attack on Titan“) as Hokuto “Toto” Mitarai and Ayumu Murase (Shouyou Hinata in “Haikyu!!”) as Shizuku “Drop” Sakuma.
The story revolves around miraculous encounters between boys. As in “A Place Further Than the Universe”, the setting of the film, which is intended to change one’s own way of life, will not be limited to Japan. First details of the plot can be read below.

Goodbye, DonGlees! Storyline
A little boy named Roma lives in a rural town near Tokyo. He doesn’t seem to be able to fit into his environment. He and Toto, who is also an outsider, start their own team called »DonGlees«. The friendship will continue even if Toto goes to high school in Tokyo and the two are separated.
The summer holidays in the first year of high school. It began with a casual remark by Drop, a new member of the DonGlees. Roma and the other two are blamed for a forest fire and are now forced to search for the drone that has disappeared in the sky to prove their innocence. The little adventure in the summer will soon become a great experience, which will drastically change the lives of the boys.
