It’s already been four years since the first release of Eromanga Sensei. Right now, we are in urgent need of Eromanga Sensei Season 2. Eromanga Sensei is a Japanese romantic comedy anime series based on a light novel series of the same name. This light novel series was written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki that got published for the first time in December 2013.
Ever since fans are able to enjoy different volumes of that light novel that are being published. One year after the light novel was published, Eromanga Sensei was adapted into a manga series illustrated by Rin. Soon, anime studios as distinguished as A-1 Pictures revealed that they would be adapting the source material into the debut season premiering in 2017. Now we are eager for the Eromanga Sensei Season 2
Eromanga Sensei Season 1: Plotline
The story centers on a high school student, Masamune Izumi, who likes to write light novels. Having no drawing skills on his own, Masamune is constantly getting illustrations of his novels by his anonymous colleague who goes by the pen name “Eromanga Sensei”. The anonymous artist does not have any official name but surely has a controversial nickname who is known to be a questionable but highly reliable pervert drawing artist.
Apart from needing to balance his passion for writing light novels and school life, Masamune is also stuck with taking care of the only family member, his half-sister, Sagiri Izumi. As an introvert by nature, Sagiri shut herself in her room for over a year and constantly orders Masamune despite attempts to get him to leave his room. However, during an autograph session, he finds out that his anonymous partner was none other than his younger step-sibling sister, Sagiri.
Eventually, Sagiri helps Masamune on the way to success. When he finds out that the partner who was working with him and who was hiding behind a mask of Eromanga Sensei, he decides to bring her in front of the world by bringing her out of the room. Soon both of them enter the world of the novel industry, and the first season majorly shows how their relationship develops and matures with the passing of time.
Eromanga Sensei Season 2: Renewal Status
After four years fans have constantly been asking for A-1 Pictures to make the sequel of the series. Despite our constant demands and online petition, the production company is still silent about it. Aside from some of the negative reviews, the first season received a great response. Maybe the negative response comes from the individual who is uncomfortable with the behavior of our two protagonists. But besides that, Eromanga Sensei has extremely valuable life lessons.
After the completion of the first installment, the creators released two OVA episodes as well. So, there is a high chance that they still want to keep this anime alive. The serialization of the light novel series is still running with the recent volume that came out back in 2019. However, the 12-episode season only adapted the first three volumes of it. So the studio has a lot of content from the remaining nine volumes that can be used to make Eromanga Sensei Season 2
Eromanga Sensei Season 2: Release Update
The light series of a slice of life from Eromanga Sensei brought a lot of commercial success. For the producer POV, it brought a lot of profit from anime and merchandise. But fans speculated A-1 Pictures was still busy with other schedules. Eromanga Sensei’s main plot actually starts from the fourth volume so that’s why people are desperate to bring it back. Hopefully, by releasing OVAs, that can be our hint for the next sequel of Eromanga Sensei Season 2. We need to bring our Eromanga Sensei soon!
