Eden’s Zero director Yuuji Suzuki has died

On the Twitter account of the anime adaptation of Edens Zero, it was announced after the broadcast of yesterday’s episode that director Yuji Suzuki has died unexpectedly.

Suzuki died on September 9, 2021 in a hospital in Tokyo. The reason for his death as well as his hospitalization was not mentioned. In a message on the series’ website, contributors expressed their grief over the loss of a beloved colleague.

Prior to his time at Edens Zero, Suzuki worked as a key animator and storyboarder, as well as an episode director on works such as Fairy Tail, Telentless Nana and High School Prodigies, Have It Easy Even In Another World. He was also Action Director of TSUKIMICHI.

The first half of the anime adaptation of Edens Zero is available worldwide with English and Japanese voice acting on Netflix. The series comprises a total of 25 episodes.
