On the official Twitter account of the manga series “Call of the Night” (jap.: “Yofukashi no Uta”) it was announced that it will get an anime adaptation. You can watch a first teaser video along with a visual below in the article.
Call of the Night Release Date
The anime series, directed by Tomoyuki Itamura (“The Case Study of Vanitas“) at Studio LIDENFILMS (Tokyo Revengers, Terra Formars), will launch on Japanese television in July 2022. The script is written by Michiko Yokote (“Dagashi Kashi”), while Haruka Sagawa contributes character design. Tetsuya Miyanishi (unit director on “Josee, the Tiger and the Fish”) serves as chief director.
Starring roles include Gen Satou (Chrome in “Dr. STONE”) as Yamori Kou and Amamiya Sora (Aqua in “KonoSuba”) as Nanakusa Nazuna. The opening is by the band Creepy Nuts.
Kotoyama’s manga of the same name has been published in Japan’s “Shounen Sunday” magazine since August 2019. Publisher Shogakukan has released eight volumes so far. A ninth volume is scheduled for November 18, 2021. In this country, the series has not yet been licensed.
