On the official website for the 10th anniversary of the original anime AnoHana: The Flower We Saw that Day (jap.: “Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai.”) it was announced that the series will receive a sequel story in the form of a stage reading.
AnoHana Original anime gets a sequel story
The sequel takes place ten years after the end of the anime and was written by screenwriter Mari Okada. The performance will take place on August 28, 2021, exactly ten years after the end of the events in the series, as part of the big event for the 10th anniversary. The voice actors from the original work are to participate again and slip into their roles.
Concrete details about the content of the sequel have not yet been revealed. The first visual, which was released in March 2021 and created by character designer Masayoshi Tanaka, can be viewed later in this article.
The eleven-part anime series AnoHana was broadcast on Japanese television between April and June 2011.
