If we are talking about anime, there has to be a chance where we eventually get to talk about waifu. Despite being more known to be a topic for male, I did see a lot (and when I said a lot, it was that much) females who also talked about waifu topics.
Stunning Anime Girls with Black Hair
And today’s topic is about 28 stunning anime girls with black hair. I have sort of touched on a waifu topic about a certain anime series. I thought I could also make another waifu list that is not only about that one single series, but also talk about multiple characters from different series.
And that is the background about how the idea came up to the surface. Initially, I would like to make this sort of ranked article and find out which one is actually the best black haired girl. And turns out I have a weakness towards waifu and in the middle of listing, I literally could not decide which character should be placed on number 28.
But at the end of the day, I eventually managed to complete the list. With an immense guilt, of course, since I have to put some of people’s favorites a bit lower than you might expect. And if you see your favorite girls ranked pretty low, I will let you know that these girls are all the best of the best because they have all made it to the list.
On a serious note, you might see some of the characters do not look like she has a black hair. I promise you I did my research, and everyone here on the list has a black hair. The color on the illustration picture could change into blue-ish or brown-ish because of some lighting stuff. But they are initially black. I guarantee.
So, I hope that could clear some of the misunderstanding before we really jump into the list. And with that last warning I gave you, let us all start from our opening act, the number 28:
28. Osaki Nana (Nana)
As our first entry, I have to say that she is probably the most underrated character on the list. But I kind of get it since the anime itself has aired years ago (and it was a hidden gem to. Check that out if you have spare time). However, those who know about character will definitely love her. Her look are a bit funky since she is a rock singer, but really her appearance can be really deceiving.
27. Hanekawa Tsubasa (Monogatari Series)
By technicality, her hair is not black anymore in the recent series. But because of personal feelings, I decided to put her on the list because damn can I skip Hanekawa (If you disagree with me, fight me). She is the one who helped Araragi the most during the series. She is however outshone by Senjougahara. Not being salty or anything since I also like Senjougahara, but I believe that Hanekawa also needs some more recognition.
26. Ymir (Attack on Titan)
This list is incomplete without AoT character. Unlike most other female characters in the series, Ymir does not get that much attention because she is more of a side character rather than her. But, Ymir also has possibly the most compelling backstory in the series. She barely has any relationships with the characters, but when she does have one, it is quite wholesome to see. Ymir definitely needs more recognition.
25. Tsurumi Chiriko (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai)
Despite not talking that much and looks like a really cold girl, Chiriko is your typical kuudere who will slowly open up after you spend a good amount of time with her. And one thing to appreciate about her is how long she could keep her feelings towards her crush for such a long time. That is indeed some dedication she got there. Tsuruko is definitely the most underrated character in Anohana.
24. Shiina Mayuri (Steins Gate)
The legendary tuturu gal is among the most beloved waifu in Steins Gate, and even the anime community. Unlike the genius Kurisu who uses her knowledge to support the member’s research, Mayushii is more of a mental support to the team. Her cheerful personality and her kindness helped the team during their darkest day. That is why Okabe is so crushed when he knows that her death is inevitable.
23. Nagatoro Hayase (Don’t Tease Me Nagatoro)
And now into our first dark skinned anime character (they say it is gyaru. Read that article if you have no idea what that means). Coming from a newer batch of anime, Nagatoro may not be as graceful and serene like most characters here on the list. But she still has her own charm and that is with her bright personality. She is definitely worthy enough to be on the list.
22. Kuchiki Rukia (Bleach)
Those who have watched Bleach may not need any explanations on why Rukia is on the list. She could act like a child at certain times, but that does not reduce her gratefulness. This is presumably influenced by her big brother, Byakuya (who is possibly more of “cold” rather than graceful). Regardless, Rukia is still as stunning as other characters on the list. Period.
21. Gokou Ruri (Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai)
Fans are still mad because instead of choosing the best girl in the series, the main character chose the incest route. Luckily, Kuroneko has a big heart to accept everything. But yeah… It was an utter disappointment because the series could end on a high note rather than a questionable one. And honestly I have no idea on what to talk about Kuroneko except for the fact that I will not waste her.
20. Kamado Nezuko (Demon Slayer)
Tanjiro’s little sister, despite being a demon, is certainly among one of the most beautiful characters in Demon Slayer. Sure some people may consider her as a cute character. But if you have seen her appearance before she was turned into a demon, you can understand why I believe Nezuko can also be counted as a beautiful, graceful female character. And that comment is approved by Tanjiro himself.
19. Hyuuga Hanabi (Boruto)
In the Naruto series, Hanabi is known to be a rookie who has the potential to be a great ninja. In the Boruto series however, Hanabi becomes a beautiful Jonin who has a great ability. Talking about character development. She also becomes your typical aunt who is preferred to be called “Big Sis” rather than aunty. Another great development that we got right there. And perhaps an unexpected one too.
18. Tokisaki Kurumi (Date a Live)
Date a Live fan, this is for you. Despite being the major villain in the series, her absolute nut personality has grabbed fans’ hearts. One day she could be gentle and become your kindest friend, and another day she could laugh maniacally. I mean that is what a Yandere is supposed to be, but Kurumi might take it to another whole new level. I am not a fan of Yandere, but if you do, she is all yours.
17. Akemi Homura (Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica)
If we are talking about the most resilient character, Akemi might take the cake. Her determination to change the future over and over is pretty much like your typical main character of time loop anime, even though she is actually not the main character. It is kind of sad to know what happened to her in the latest movie, but hey, the story is not over yet. Who knows what is going to happen to her.
16. Yaoyorozu Momo (My Hero Academia)
(I have explained a bit about Momo in this article. Check it out) Among most girls in My Hero Academia, Momo is gifted with intelligence to compliment her quirk. That made her having an advantage compared to her peers. And in terms of looks, well it does not really need to be explained further right? We all know why she is on the list, and it is pretty much the same like others.
15. Sohma Isuzu (Fruits Basket)
Spending most of her youth looking for a way to break family curse might be really draining. Isuzu totally deserved some love after all she did to gain freedom from the curse. She did fail to break it because the curse itself will break on its own, but we can appreciate her for not succumbing to such a dreadful fate. Thankfully she still has someone to share happiness with.
14. Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
A badass female character who is more known to be strong rather than being pretty. And that is a good thing because what can beauty do against Titan? Yup, none. Mikasa’s strength can only be rivaled by another badass character in AoT, Levi, who is coincidentally another Ackerman. Still though, you can see her showing her cute and soft side, for example in the Attack on Titan: Junior High series.
13. Albedo (Overlord)
By glance, Albedo looked like a graceful succubus lady who acts like some kind of empress or sort. But thanks to Momonga, she turned into something that… Well, lustful. This is made worse since she is also competing with the equally lustful Shalltear. But still, this does not dismiss the fact that Albedo is a beautiful lady and most certainly deserved to be included on the list.
12. Kurihara Mari (Prison School)
If you are more of an “M” rather than “S” (real anime fans should know what that was), then congratulations you find yourself a perfect waifu. Mari is definitely someone who would love to dominate you on whatever occasion you have. Maybe not as much as her partner Meiko, but she will do it regardless. Still, behind that cold look, she actually does care for her surroundings. Talking about a tsundere.
11. Komi Shouko (Komi Can’t Communicate)
Currently being the hottest waifu in the anime community, Komi has literally everything you want from a female character: nice body figure, good personality, and pretty look. She only lacks in the communication department (hence why the title is Komi Can’t Communicate, for those who do not know). But even on that part, she is still trying her best to open up. Fans will definitely enjoy her being at least until the season ends.
10. Akiyama Mio (K-On)
The most mature member of K-On is also the 2nd most popular one. And it is not me who said it. You can simply check it on the Myanimelist website and see that she has been favored more than any other member. Surely it is based on personal preference, but you can deny that Mio’s personality and looks are one of few reasons that a lot of fans like her so much.
9. Nakano Azusa (K-On)
As you may expect, Mio is not our only stunning female K-On character. Azusa definitely deserves a place on the list. While Mio is more known as the de facto eldest sister of the group, Azusa is perhaps the youngest one, alongside Yui. She usually acts like a mature person and tries to put the group back on track, when in reality Azusa is the one who got sidetracked by them.
8. Akame (Akame ga Kill)
Silent but deadly. That short sentence is most definitely enough to describe arguably the strongest member of Night Raid. Behind that warm smile, Akame would not hesitate to kill everyone who stands in her way. In spite of that ruthless personality when it comes to killing, just like any kuudere, she still has that kind and caring nature even though we need to spend more time with her to realize that.
7. Nanami Touko (Bloom Into You)
Remember her? A girl who rejected a boy not because she disliked him, and it turns out it is because she is more interested in girls. Boy what a show it is. And that boy has good eyes. Touko is a perfect student who excels in many things. She even became the Leader of the Student Council in her school. You cannot ask more for your perfect female high schooler than this, right?
6. Shinomiya Kaguya (Kaguya-sama Love Is War)
Except when Shinomiya Kaguya appears. Apart from lacking in her physique (which is arguably subjective), Kaguya can perhaps do a better job to resemble a perfect female high schooler. And no, I am not going to compare her with our previous entry. I just thought it would be a good transition talking about female high schoolers. Because remember, all of the girls on the list are all equally stunning in their own way.
5. Tohsaka Rin (Fate Series)
A lot of tsundere on the list huh… But this one is special for Fate fans because she is arguably the pinnacle of tsundere female characters in anime history. Starting from her appearance, and then of course her personality, and definitely that “It’s not like…” Thing that literally has become every tsundere catch phrase. No wonder fans love her so much and are even willing to protect her no matter what.
4. Sakurajima Mai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai)
(If you have not watched the anime, yes that is the real title) For me, Mai-senpai appeared to be your generic tsundere-ish female character in the series. But after watching it for a while, boy I was totally wrong. She is still a tsundere, but she cares a lot about her surroundings. She is sweet, cute, and the best part is that she does wear a bunny girl costume. Most of the time.
3. Boa Hancock (One Piece)
The Empress of Amazon Lily is said to be the most beautiful woman in One Piece and her beauty can only be rivaled by Princess Mermaid. And I think by simply looking at that picture above is enough to tell you about her beauty. But Boa Hancock is more than just a stunning woman. She is also charismatic and strong in battle. Better not messing up in front of her.
2. Nico Robin (One Piece)
Oh look, another One Piece character. But real talk, can we really talk about black haired female anime characters without Nico Robin (and the answer is no. That is a rhetorical question). I honestly do not know what to say about Nico Robin. Everything about her is pretty much self-explanatory, especially if you are a One Piece fan. Let us just thank Oda for creating such a brilliant character for this series.
1. Yukinoshita Yukino (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru)
The Ice Queen from Oregairu has a really good reputation among anime fans. You only need to remember her introduction on the series for knowing that she is a perfect waifu. She is smart, snarky, sassy, and funny. Not to mention that she has a tsundere trait inside her. And we have no need to talk about her physique because we all know how beautiful Yukinoshita is.
