86 EIGHTY-SIX: Second half takes two breaks

The official website of the anime adaptation of “86 EIGHTY-SIX” announced that the broadcast of the series will take two breaks in November and December 2021.

86 EIGHTY-SIX: Two breaks planned

The first break will take place on November 13, 2021 due to unspecified production circumstances. A special will air on Japanese television instead, so the 18th episode will not appear on international streaming platforms until November 20, 2021. Another break is scheduled for December 11, 2021 due to a special program in Japan.

The second half of “86 EIGHTY-SIX,” which started in October 2021, is again being directed by Toshimasa Ishii at Studio A-1 Pictures (Ace Attorney, Eromanga Sensei). Toshiya Oono (“Shadows House“) will again handle series composition, while Tetsuya Kawakami will contribute character design.

Streaming service Crunchyroll will simulcast the new episodes in their original audio with English subtitles shortly after the Japanese TV launch. The first season is already available on demand with English and Japanese voiceovers.

86 EIGHTY-SIX: Second Half Trailer

San Magnolia has long been under attack by an army of unmanned drones from the Giadian Empire, the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic has finally developed autonomous drones of its own, turning the one-sided battle into a war without casualties – at least that’s what the government claims.

In truth, there is no such thing as a casualty-free war. Beyond the walls protecting the Republic’s 85 territories lies the 86th sector. The young people of this abandoned land, stripped of their humanity, lead the “unmanned” weapons into battle.
